Story

Upon learning of her estranged mother's death in New Orleans, Purslane Hominy Will ('Pursy'), a jaded teenage loner played by Scarlett Johansson, returns to her childhood home after years away. However, she finds that the house is no longer hers; it is inhabited by two men, one being Bobby Long (John Travolta), an aging alcoholic musician. Despite this unexpected situation, Pursy decides to stay in New Orleans and confronts Bobby about his presence there.
