Story

In occupied Poland during World War II, a Polish widow named Anna is involved in a relationship with a Nazi Luftwaffe officer, Hans. Anna's daughter, Krystyna, strongly disapproves of this alliance due to her father's death at the hands of the Nazis. One day, Krystyna finds a young Jewish boy named David hiding in their attic. Despite the risks, she decides to help him survive the Holocaust. Krystyna puts her mother in a difficult position by presenting Anna with a choice: either continue her relationship with Hans, knowing that it could jeopardize David's safety and betray her late husband's memory, or end things with Hans to protect David and uphold her family's honor.
