On his wedding day, Joseph confesses that his wife Maria is not like other women. They've been married for six months, but she hasn't been able to orgasm with him despite her willingness to pretend otherwise. Joseph discovers that Maria has been visiting an unlicensed sex therapist named Balthazar who lives across the street from his office. Initially upset, Joseph eventually learns about Balthazar's teachings on tantric healing and 'bliss,' which focuses on emotional and spiritual connection rather than just physical pleasure. He convinces Balthazar to teach him these methods in hopes of helping Maria overcome her emotional scars and deepening their intimacy.
Bliss is a provocative drama about sex, love, and trust that follows Joseph and Maria, a young married couple struggling with intimacy issues. The film explores themes of childhood trauma, repression, and the complex nature of human relationships. It's a story about Joseph's journey to understand his wife's past and his attempt to help her overcome it through unconventional therapy methods.
