Desert Saints follows hitman Banks as he targets a swank resort in Mexico for his next job. Along the way, he picks up Bennie, a woman leaving an abusive marriage and headed to Paradise, Arizona. Banks begins to recruit Bennie into his operation while also evading the FBI, who are closely pursuing him with the intention of capturing him alive. As Banks' plan unfolds, it becomes unclear whether Bennie is who she seems, and if there's a vulnerability in Banks' tough-guy persona.
Directed by Richard Greenberg and released in 2002, Desert Saints is an action-thriller-romance film set primarily in the Southwest United States. The movie centers around Banks, a skilled hitman who works for Latin American drug cartels and has a history of using and then killing solitary women involved in his jobs. When he picks up Bennie, a woman on her way to start a new life, their encounter sets off a chain of events involving Banks' recruitment of Bennie into his operation, an impending hit at a Mexican resort, and the relentless pursuit by the FBI.
