Frankie Diomede (played by Bud Spencer), a powerful criminal in Genoa, finds his empire threatened by a French gangster's intrusion. To maintain an alibi while dealing with this threat, Frankie deliberately gets himself arrested. However, things quickly spiral out of control as his associates are picked off one by one and attempts are made on his life. Meanwhile, Tony Breda (Terrence Hill), a wannabe wiseguy from Milan raised in Hoboken, hatches a plan to free Frankie from prison. Once Frankie is out, they team up to eliminate the French gangster and restore order in Frankie's criminal underworld.
