In 'Flavia, la monaca musulmana', set in Italy during the 1400s, a group of nuns on their annual pilgrimage have their convent invaded by the Tarantula Sect. The cultists defile the place of worship, engaging in orgiastic rituals within the chapel and desecrating the altar. One nun, Flavia, becomes so distressed by these events and the religious oppression she experiences that she decides to flee the convent.
