In the aftermath of a terrorist bombing in Berlin that claims her mother and brothers, young Maxi survives with her father. Struggling with grief, she meets Karl, an enigmatic student who invites her to attend a conference for European youth in Prague. Seeking escape from her devastated home life, Maxi accepts Karl's invitation without knowing the true nature of the political movement he represents. Once in Prague, Maxi becomes deeply involved with this group aiming for nothing less than seizing power, unaware that its members may have connections to those responsible for her family's tragedy.
