Sister Cristina takes seven teenage girls under her care to an isolated house in the countryside for rehearsals of Shakespeare's 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'. Three thugs invade their sanctuary, subjecting the girls to violent rapes and tortures. One girl dies as a result of these atrocities. Sister Cristina, renouncing her peaceful teachings, seeks bloody revenge against the criminals.
Directed by Francesco Prosperi in 1978, 'La settima donna' is an Italian film that blends drama, horror, and rape-revenge elements. The story is loosely based on Shakespeare's 'A Midsummer Night's Dream', using it as a backdrop for the girls' rehearsals. The movie follows Sister Cristina and her charges as they are tormented by three violent men, leading to a tragic outcome and ultimately a quest for vengeance.
