In 'La stanza del vescovo', young Marco Maffei meets the charismatic Temistocle Mario Orimbelli while sailing on Lake Maggiore in September 1946. Intrigued by Temistocle's lifestyle and villa, Marco accepts his invitation for dinner where he meets Temistocle's wife Cleofe and her sister-in-law Matilde, with whom Marco instantly falls in love. The story unfolds amidst a backdrop of forbidden passions and hidden secrets, culminating with the sudden death of a loved one. Complications arise when Cleofe's brother Angelo Berlusconi reappears after being missing, adding another layer of mystery to the plot, particularly around the mysterious wooden trunk in the bishop's bedroom.
