Meanwhile, in 1209 medieval France, newly married Alaïs Pelletier du Mas protects three sacred books that reveal the secret of the Holy Grail from the invading Crusaders. As Alice delves deeper into her discovery and Alaïs struggles to safeguard her charge, their lives become inexplicably entwined.
