The next day, she searches for her and inadvertently draws the attention of the cartel. They force Laura to assist them by threatening her family. Cartel leader Lino decides Laura should continue in the pageant as a way to keep her under control. As days pass, Laura becomes more entangled in the cartel's activities, with no clear escape route.
