John (Wesley Snipes) and Charlie (Woody Harrelson), foster brothers working as transit cops in New York City, have a strained relationship due to John's jealousy of Charlie's good life. After losing his job and getting beaten up by loan sharks, John decides to rob the 'Money Train', an armored train that carries the weekly subway revenue.
