Rachel leaves her Amish community in Pennsylvania to pursue her dream of becoming a dancer in New York City. She arrives at Billy Minsky's Burlesque, hoping to perform but finds that her biblical dance routines are not suitable for the venue. Raymond, one of the comedians at the club, sees Rachel's unique act as an opportunity to outsmart local morality crusaders who have been closing down burlesque shows.
