Based on Robert Louis Stevenson's story, 'Olalla' follows an incestuous family of genetic vampires who survive by consuming human blood. The matriarchal Olalla and her daughters live in seclusion, but their impulsive nature puts them at risk. A new guest, Roberto, arrives at their hacienda, causing tension between him and Olalla's brother Felipe. Olalla's inability to control her urges leads her to attack Roberto and the village priest, resulting in the villagers capturing, whipping, and burning her alive. Centuries later, Olalla's surviving daughters, Olalla and Ofelia, continue their isolated lifestyle. Olalla, seeking normalcy, moves away and takes a lover but inadvertently kills him. Ofelia calls upon Felipe to discipline Olalla for putting them all in danger. The film culminates with Felipe attempting to rein in Olalla's actions to save the family.
