Claire Danes, born April 12, 1979, is an American actress known for her roles in various films and television series. She gained early recognition as Angela Chase in 'My So-Called Life' (1994), which earned her a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress. Her film credits include 'Little Women' (1994), 'Romeo + Juliet' (1996), 'The Hours' (2002), and 'Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines' (2003). She attended Yale University from 1998 to 2000 before returning to acting. In the stage production 'Stage Beauty' (2004), Danes plays Maria, an aspiring actress who challenges gender roles in theater by auditioning for traditionally male parts.

Story

Mirabelle Buttersfield, a recent college graduate and aspiring artist, works as a clerk at Saks Fifth Avenue in Beverly Hills to make ends meet despite her substantial student loans. She leads a solitary life, struggling with chronic clinical depression. Two men enter her life: Jeremy, an amplifier salesman/font designer who doesn't seem to understand Mirabelle's needs; and Ray Porter, a wealthy fifty-something divorcée who is initially upfront about his unwillingness to commit but whom Mirabelle sees as her boyfriend nonetheless.
