Full Biography

Morena Baccarin, born on June 2, 1979, is an American actress of Brazilian and Italian descent. She was born in Rio de Janeiro but moved to New York with her family at the age of seven. Her mother, Vera Setta, is a Brazilian stage and TV actress, while her father, Fernando Baccarin, is an Italian journalist. Baccarin attended prestigious performing arts schools and graduated from Juilliard's theater program. She made her film debut in 'Perfume' (2001). Known for roles in sci-fi TV shows like 'Firefly', 'Stargate SG-1', and 'V', she has also acted in films such as 'Death in Love' (2008), which explores themes of love, loss, and survival during World War II.

Story

Homeland follows U.S. Marine Sergeant Nicholas Brody who returns home eight years after going missing in Iraq, presumed dead. His intelligence officer, Carrie Mathison, believes he was turned by al-Qaeda and poses an active threat to national security. As Carrie investigates further, she discovers that Brody has indeed been indoctrinated by the terrorist group and is involved in a planned attack on American soil.
