Claire Danes, born April 12, 1979, is an American actress known for her roles in various films and television series. She gained early recognition as Angela Chase in 'My So-Called Life' (1994), which earned her a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress. Her film credits include 'Little Women' (1994), 'Romeo + Juliet' (1996), 'The Hours' (2002), and 'Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines' (2003). She attended Yale University from 1998 to 2000 before returning to acting. In the stage production 'Stage Beauty' (2004), Danes plays Maria, an aspiring actress who challenges gender roles in theater by auditioning for traditionally male parts.

Story

Homeland follows U.S. Marine Sergeant Nicholas Brody who returns home eight years after going missing in Iraq, presumed dead. His intelligence officer, Carrie Mathison, believes he was turned by al-Qaeda and poses an active threat to national security. As Carrie investigates further, she discovers that Brody has indeed been indoctrinated by the terrorist group and is involved in a planned attack on American soil.
