Sandrine Bonnaire, born on May 31, 1967, in Gannat, France, is a French actress and film director. Born into a working-class family of eleven children, she started her acting career at age 16 with the film 'À nos amours' (1983) by Maurice Pialat, earning her first César Award for Most Promising Actress in 1984. Her international breakthrough came with 'Vagabond' (1985), directed by Agnès Varda, winning her second César Award. She has acted in over 40 films, including collaborations with directors like Jacques Doillon and Claude Sautet. Bonnaire has a daughter from a relationship with actor William Hurt, whom she met during filming of 'La Peste' (1992). Since 2003, she has been married to actor Guillaume Laurant, with whom she has another daughter.
