Full Biography

Nina Hoss, born on July 7, 1975 in Hannover, Germany, started her acting career at age seven with radio plays and made her stage debut at 14. After graduating from the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin in 1997, she rose to prominence playing Rosemarie Nitribitt in Bernd Eichinger's 'A Girl Called Rosemary' (1996). Hoss is renowned for her collaborations with director Christian Petzold, winning awards for her roles in 'Something to Remind Me', 'Wolfsburg', and 'Yella'. She also starred in 'Barbara' (2011), portraying a doctor exiled to East Germany.

Story

Anna Bronsky, a violin teacher at the Conservatoire, against her colleagues' advice, admits Alexander to her class, recognizing his exceptional talent. Anna becomes increasingly involved in Alexander's training for the end-of-year exam, preparing him for challenging performances despite warnings that he might not be ready. Meanwhile, Anna neglects her own son Jonas, who also plays violin and has an interest in ice hockey.
