Annie Ross (born Annabelle McCauley Allan Short), a British-American singer and actress, was born on July 25, 1930, in Surrey, England, to Scottish vaudevillian parents. Known professionally as Annie Ross, she is best known for being part of the jazz vocal trio Lambert, Hendricks & Ross. Her film roles include Liza in 'Straight On till Morning' (1972), Claire in 'Alfie Darling' (1976), and Vera Webster in 'Superman III' (1983). She died on July 21, 2020, at the age of 89.
