Birgitte Federspiel (September 6, 1925 - February 2, 2005) was a Danish actress known for her roles in film, theater, and television. Born Karen Birgitte Federspiel in Copenhagen to actors Ejner Federspiel and Gunver Fönss, she won two Bodil Awards for Best Actress for 'Ordet' (1955) and 'En fremmed banker på' (1959). Some of her notable roles include Inger in 'Ordet' (1955) and Martine in 'Babette's Feast' (1987). She also played Baroness von Rydtger in episodes of 'Matador'. Federspiel died in Odense at the age of 79.
