Kyra Minturn Sedgwick, born August 19, 1965 in New York City, USA, is an American actress best known for her role as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson on 'The Closer'. She won a Golden Globe Award in 2007 and an Emmy Award in 2010 for this role. Sedgwick also starred in the 2005 film 'Loverboy', where she played Emily, a mother who raises her son in isolation.
