Loreta Tovar, born María Dolores del Loreto Tovar on March 23, 1952 in Extremadura, Spain, began her acting career at age fourteen with Narciso Ibáñez Serrador. She worked uncredited initially but went on to have an uninterrupted career until 1985, often credited under different artistic names. Tovar is recognized as one of the most notable faces of Spanish Fantaterror.
