Milena Smit was born on October 5, 1996, in Elche, Spain. She began her career as a model at age 15 before moving to Madrid and studying acting at Cristina Rota's school under Bernard Hiller, coach of actors like Leonardo DiCaprio and Cameron Diaz. Before acting, she worked various jobs including waitressing, retail, babysitting, and subway information assistance. Her first film appearances were in shorts like 'Diagonales' and 'Innermost'. In 2020, she debuted in her first feature film, 'Cross the Line', directed by David Victori with Mario Casas. She was nominated for Best New Actress at the Goya Awards for this role. Afterwards, Pedro Almodóvar cast her in 'Parallel Mothers' alongside Penélope Cruz and Aitana Sánchez-Gijón. Smit's character forms a friendship with Cruz's character while they're both pregnant.
