Rosie Perez, born Rosa María Perez on September 6, 1964, is an American actress known for her breakthrough role as Tina in Spike Lee's 'Do the Right Thing' (1989). She was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in 'Fearless' (1993). Apart from acting, Perez has also worked as a choreographer, notably on 'In Living Color' (1990–1994), and co-hosted 'The View' during its 18th season. Her filmography includes 'White Men Can't Jump' (1992) and she has appeared in Broadway plays like 'The Ritz', 'Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune', and 'Fish in the Dark'. Perez's role in 'Perdita Durango' (1997), where she played Perdita, is notable for its unique storyline involving human sacrifices.
