Vivian Wu, born on February 5, 1966 in Shanghai, China, is an accomplished actress known for her roles in notable films such as 'The Last Emperor' (1987), 'Heaven & Earth' (1993), and 'The Joy Luck Club' (1993). She also portrayed the historical figure Soong May-ling, or Madam Chiang Kai-shek, in two major Chinese motion pictures: 'The Soong Sisters' (1997) and 'The Founding of a Republic' (2009). Additionally, Wu played a significant role in 'The Pillow Book' (1996).
