Yuliya Aug, born Yuliya Arturovna Aug on June 8, 1970 in Leningrad, RSFSR, Soviet Union (now St. Petersburg, Russia), spent her childhood in Narva, Estonian SSR (now Estonia). Her paternal grandfather was Estonian. After graduating from the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts in 1993, Aug served in the troupe of the Youth Theater named after A. A. Bryantsev for ten years until 2004, playing eight main roles including Sophia in 'Woe from Wit' and Lady Macbeth in 'Macbeth'. She graduated with honors from the directing department at the Russian Institute of Theatre Arts in Moscow in 2010.
