Sarsi Emmanuelle, born Maria Jennifer Obregon Mitchell, was a former dancer and actress in the Philippines who received a Best Actress nomination for her role in 'Boatman'. Her character in the movie 'Silip' (1985), Tonya, is a sexually repressed young woman living in a rural village. Tonya's attraction to Simon, the butcher, is complicated by her guilt and religious upbringing.
